Introduction

The financial markets have opened countless opportunities to small investors since 1995 with the advent of Windows ’95 and the widespread introduction of Internet.  Now, with second-generation technology, high speed Internet access, steady trading software platforms, specialized technical analysis software and resourceful literature readily available, the small investor has a better chance at improving his performance and ultimately at becoming financially independent through securities trading, speculating or investing and self-employment.

No doubt about it, getting involved in the financial markets is the way of the future!

Prerequisites

To get the most of this course, the student must meet the following criteria:

• Know his computer well.
• Have a reliable computer outfitted with rewritable CD-ROM or thumb drive and power battery back up.
• Have his technical analysis software (or buy MetaStock).
• Have a good Internet connection.
• Have a fax machine or access to one, a printing calculator and office supplies.
• Be willing to commit to daily study.
• Have a minimal capital when ready to invest.

Course outline

The course is held individually or small group on evenings or weekends.

• Two textbooks and CD.
• Technical analysis helps with learning about price movements.
• The Bar chart, the Line chart and introduction to the Candlestick chart.
• Time frames: day trading, swing trading, investing.
• Popular methods of trading.
• Why do short-term traders care very little about fundamental analysis or avoid it completely altogether?
• Psychology of trading: the new you.

Upon successful completion

• The student will have an understanding of what it takes to cyber-trade from the technical analysis view.
• He/she will be able to apply basic theories suitable for intra-day trading (the so called “day trading” phenomenon), occasional trading (the so called “swing trading”, that is making 2-3 trades a month) or investing (longer term approach).
• He will receive the appropriate templates, Indicators, security explorations, system tester and expert advisors programmed in MetaStock language in order to fully automate the trading process.
• He/she will know how to choose a broker, open an account and all related legalities.
• No diploma will be issued.  The course is self-employment or private group trading.  The student will receive a Letter of Recommendation.
  
  Remember: time spent on looking for a job is better spent on starting your own business!
